These are some of the First Draft Machine Designs.
To help keep the project moving, I produced these original ‘rough’ designs for Tim to implement into the game. They were produced fairly quickly and mapped out the rough design, shape and size of the different machines.
We decided to work this way so that we could not only get a sense of whether the style was working and how all the designs worked together. But it also meant that Tim could continue to code while I simultaneously continued to improve and develop the machines further.
Even though we where very happy with the initial results we felt that designs were too generic. All of the machines felt too similar and they needed to stand out from one another. We felt this could be achieved by adding more colour and more detail into the designs. This would also help to make the game feel more fun and less sterile.
